Introducing Two New Ways to Summarize Transcripts

Introducing two new ways to summarize transcripts with Transcribe

Back in July 2024, we introduced our first AI-powered transcript summary tool - designed to help you get the gist of your transcript in seconds.

Now we're taking things one step further.

We're excited to introduce two new summary features to help you digest your transcripts faster and more effectively:

  • Key Points - a quick, bullet-pointed overview
  • Structured Summary - a deeper dive that organizes your transcript into clear, actionable sections

Whether you're scanning for quick insights or need a detailed breakdown to share with your team, these new features have you covered.

Recap: The original summary feature

Our original summary feature was built to give you a fast, readable overview of your transcript. It means you can quickly grasp the main ideas without having to read the full thing.

Since its launch, it's become one of our most popular tools. From journalists and researchers to marketing teams and project managers, thousands of users rely on it to extract insights quickly and work more efficiently.

But we know that you need different types of summaries for different tasks - and that's where our two new features come in.

New feature #1: Key Points

Need the highlights in an easy-to-digest format? Key Points breaks down your transcript summary into a short intro and a clear set of bullet points, outlining the most important takeaways.

It's perfect for when you want the gist at a glance - whether you're reviewing a meeting, checking over an interview, or pulling out insights from a webinar. With these easy-to-read bullet points, you can quickly scan through and spot the information that matters most.

New feature #2: Structured Summary

Looking for a more detailed overview? Structured Summary gives you a deeper dive into your transcript, with information grouped into clearly labeled sections, based on what AI deems most relevant.

Rather than a one-size-fits-all summary, this format adapts to the content of your transcript. Depending on what's discussed, you might see sections like:

  • Main arguments
  • Action items
  • Decisions made
  • Challenges or concerns raised

This makes it easier to scan the information and find the sections that will help you take the next step - whether that's working through action items, addressing challenges, or getting clarity on key decisions.
